No Right, No Wrong, Just Different.

"There is no right or wrong option, just two different options." This saying is oft repeated by my dad when weighing things up, whether it be products, courses of action for a situation, or anything.

He has an amazing view point that there is no right or wrong way to do things, no good or bad way to do things, just different ways to go about doing whatever. This is a great mindset and way to approach decision making I think, because 1) you treat each option independently of all other options and 2) you take all the emotion out of the question. Now what if we apply this to people, there is a quote in the harry potter books that talks about voldemort, I cannot remember who said it nor which book it was in but it goes something like this.

"He must not be named did great things and was a great wizard, he did terrible things and was indeed a very dark wizard but a great wizard and did great things none the less."

For those who live under a rock and have never heard or read harry potter, voldemort is evil dude number one. However what treating him on his merits he did do great things even though the impacts of his deeds upon the universe of harry potter was evil and destructive they were great actions none the less because of his choices to undertake these dark deeds.

However the point I am trying to make is that we should as a society be less judgemental and stereotypical then what we currently are. We should treat each individual we interact with on their own individual merits free from prejudice from our own prior experiences. If we could all do this or at least try the world would be a much better place....if only it was that easy.
